Registry Outfits

When it comes to the Civil Wedding, you can either go all out and wear a full western white dress... or an indian saree/lengha... OR mix the 2 together.  Whatever the option, you must be comfortable with what you wear.  I have digged out some outfits I really like for a Registry...

The above designs are from a range called 'Fusion' which is aimed for contemporary and mixed marriage brides... I think it's a great range and really does capture both Eastern and Western cultures.  Some may not be the most practical designs but they do look amazing!

I really do like the short trails on the designs above, I imagine you'd have to be relatively tall or in 6 inch heels to pull these dresses off...nonetheless they are definitely not something you'd see everyday at Indian weddings.  If you want to be different then in my opinion, this is the way to go.



Bridal Wear

In search of inspiration...I came across Charmi Creations located in Harrow, London who specialise in Wedding Attire.  The site itself, presents a variety of styles and colours; from traditional, vintage inspired to the contemporary... I'm sure they have something to suit every individual taste!  Here are some Bridal outfits which really stood out...

 
 The embroidery itself is what caught my eye, I think it looks great against the maroon fabric.  The busy embroidery might be too much for some brides but the simplicity of the Dupatta balances this.

This next one screams out vintage but the lengha itself has a modern twist...



Red georgette lengha with detachable trail and an inserted net slit

 Quite like the idea of a detachable trail...I have seen a bride wear one and it can be a useful thing to have.
The inserted net slit - I'd like to know how this actually falls around your legs when you're sat down.  The last thing you want is a big puff of net in front of you throughout the ceremony...
I do like this outfit but i think you'd need the perfect figure (maybe height also) to pull this off.  Especially due to the zig zag design of the top.

Here's one of the not-so-traditionally-coloured outfits... I really do like the turquoise of this and the print on the dupatta...some would argue you could wear this as a reception outfit... ?

Some more interesting Bridal outfits I've come across...

Laukika, based in Middlesex (but also operate a mail order service) are thought to produce a fusion of indo/western collections.  Some pics I found on their website from a fashion show they participated in - Shaadi Chic, Canary Wharf 2010.





Not a great pic but love the colours and embroidery - everything works well together.



I like the colours and overall styling of this... so much thought has gone into it!

The design of this one might be considered 'out of fashion' for the year 2011 but I think we can still appreciate the gorgeous handiwork that has gone into this.  It's an off white shimmer tissue,  georgette lengha choli and a maroon net dupatta with gold piping and velvet work.  The gold piping adds a really nice touch to the whole design and gives neat finishes to the fabric edges.
